ITEM DESCRIPTIONPAIR
of brand new reproduction outer cowl-to-fender vertical dust seals, sometimes referred to as splash apron seals. These attach to the outer edge (lip) of the firewall / cowl area and seal against the back inside of the fenders. Their purpose is to keep water, dirt, etc. from getting into the front door jamb area.
IMPORTANT!
GM used two different methods of attaching these - a special clip or heavy duty staples. The clips tend to be on the earlier cars (1962 - 63) and staples thereafter. These come with replacement staples, the clips to my knowledge are not reproduced. The used clips are
very
difficult to reinstall properly. If your car uses the clips, most people drill small holes into these seals and pop-rivet them on. I have personally used this method and it works well. For those that have staples, they can be fed into the original holes and hammer / dollied tight.
CONDITION -
New USA made reproduction. The contours of these seals are not 100% like the originals, but they do work. None of the repop seals on the market are perfect.
APPLICATION -
1962 - 67 Chevy II / Nova all models and body styles - coupe, sedan, wagon and convertible.
